월가의 베테랑 투자자인 마크 모비우스가 비트코인 가격이 내년 1만달러까지 떨어질 수도 있다는 주장했습니다.

현지시간 2022년 12월 1일 월가 베테랑 투자자로 꼽히는 마크 모비우스는 CNBC에 출연해 "내년 비트코인 가격이 지금보다 40% 이상 내릴 수 있다"며 이같이 말했습니다. 모비우스는 가상자산 거래소 관련 기업이 잇따라 파산하는 상황에서 시장에 유동성이 줄어든 점을 주요 요인으로 꼽았습니다. 모비우스 캐피털 파트너스의 창업자인 모비우스는 월가의 거물인 동시에 대표적인 월가의 가상자산 비관론자로 꼽힙니다.

모비우스의 이런 비관적인 예상이 맞아 떨어진다면 올해 1조 3000억 달러, 우리 돈 1700조 원 이상의 시가총액이 날아간 가상자산 시장은 더욱더 위축될 것으로 전망됩니다. 모비우스는 또 "금리가 높아지면 비트코인 등 다른 가상자산을 보유하거나 매수하는 것은 덜 매력적이다"고 말했습니다. 앞서 모비우스는 지난달에도 가상자산은 투자가 아니라 종교라며 가상자산 투자자들이 주식투자로 돌아와야 한다는 취지의 발언을 한 바 있습니다. 그는 "통화가치가 떨어지는 상황이 계속될 것이기 때문에 즉 물가상승률이 계속 높은 수준일 것이라는 점에서 틀림없이 정답은 주식이다"고 말했습니다.
