비트코인이 바이낸스 악재에 휘청였다. 미국 규제당국이 세계 최대 가상자산(가상화폐) 거래소 바이낸스와 수장 자오창펑을 상대로 소송을 제기하자 급락한 것이다. 상승 곡선을 그리며 3700만원대를 회복한 비트코인은 3600만원대로 다시 빠졌다. 이더리움도 하락세를 보였다. 같은 시각 이더리움은 빗썸에서 0.70% 하락한 228만원을, 업비트에서는 2.97% 빠진 228만원을 기록했다. 코인마켓캡에서는 3.73% 하락한 1713달러에 거래됐다. 이더리움은 비트코인을 제외한 나머지 대체 가상자산인 알트코인(얼터너티브 코인) 중 시가총액이 두 번째로 크다. 급락세는 바이낸스 제소 소식에서 비롯했다. 세계 최대 가상자산 거래소가 미국 규제당국으로부터 철퇴 압박을 받자 시장이 주춤한 것이다.

미국 상품선물거래위원회(CFTC)는 2023년 3월27일(현지시간) 바이낸스와 자오창펑 최고경영자(CEO) 등을 파생상품 규제 위반 혐의로 고소했다고 밝혔다. 소장에 따르면 바이낸스는 규제당국의 감시를 피하고자 플랫폼을 기관에 고의로 등록하지 않았다. 또 이른바 VIP 고객의 돈세탁을 돕기 위해 당국의 계좌추적 정보를 빼돌리는 등 8가지의 핵심 조항을 위반한 것으로 전해졌다. 하지만 자오창펑은 CFTC가 제기한 시장 조작 혐의를 즉각 부인했다. 그는 2023년 3월 28일(현지시간) 블로그 게시물을 통해 "바이낸스는 어떤 상황에서도 이익을 위해 거래하거나 시장을 조작하지 않는다"고 밝혔다. 이날 뉴욕증시는 은행주 반등에 주목하며 혼조 마감했다. 다우지수는 0.60%, S&P500지수는 0.16% 각각 상승했다. 가상자산 시장과 밀접하게 연동되는 것으로 알려진 나스닥지수는 0.47% 하락했다. 한편 글로벌 가상자산 데이터 조사 업체 얼터너티브(Alternative)에서 집계하는 '공포·탐욕 지수'는 이날 59점을 기록하며 '탐욕적인(Greed)' 수준을 나타냈다. 전날(64·탐욕적인)과 떨어진 수치다. 해당 지수는 0으로 갈수록 시장 심리가 극단적 공포에 가까움을 나타내며 100에 가까울수록 극단적 낙관을 의미한다．

Meanwhile, the "fear and greed index" compiled by Alternative, a global virtual asset data research company, scored 59 points on the same day, showing a "greed" level.
