가상자산 대장주 비트코인이 조정을 받으면서 4만1000달러선으로 내려왔다. 최근 비트코인 가격을 끌어올리던 현물 상장지수펀드(ETF)에 대한 기대감이 과도하게 반영됐다는 신중론이 등장하면서다.

글로벌 투자은행(IB) JP모건의 니콜라스 파니기르초글루 분석가는 최근 서한에서 "비트코인 현물 ETF 승인을 둘러싼 지나친 기대감을 경계해야 한다"며 "승인 이후 매도 물량이 쏟아질 가능성이 있다"고 경고한 바 있다.

 

미국 ETF 전문 업체 ETF스토어의 최고경영자(CEO)인 네이트 제라시(Nate Geraci)는 "현물 비트코인 ETF가 1월에 승인되지 않는다면 암호화폐 역사상 가장 큰 러그풀(가상자산 개발자가 프로젝트에 대한 투자금을 모은 뒤 돌연 프로젝트를 중단하고 투자금은 돌려주지 않는 사기) 중 하나가 될 수 있다"고 지적했다.

Bitcoin, the leading stock of virtual assets, has fallen to the $41,000 level as it has been adjusted. It is due to the emergence of caution that expectations for spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which have recently been raising Bitcoin prices, have been excessively reflected. Nicholas Panigirchoglu, an analyst at JPMorgan, a global investment bank, warned in a recent letter that "we should be wary of excessive expectations surrounding the approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs," adding, "There is a possibility that sales will pour out after approval."

 

Nate Geraci, CEO of ETF Store, a U.S. ETF specialist, pointed out on social network service (SNS) X, "If the in-kind Bitcoin ETF is not approved in January, it could be one of the largest rug pools in the history of cryptocurrency (a fraud in which a virtual asset developer suddenly stops the project after collecting investments in the project and does not return the investment)."
