추가 연기 가능성 매우 낮아 시장은 이날 비트코인 현물 ETF에 대한 운명이 결정될 것으로 전망한다. 시장은 아크인베스트에 대한 승인을 시작으로 블랙록, 그레이스케일, 피델리티, 반에크 등 여러 투자사의 상품 승인도 이어질 것으로 보고 있다. 특정 자산운용사에 특혜를 주지 않기 위해 동시 다발적으로 승인할 가능성이 크다는 것이다. 비트코인 현물 ETF 출시는 지난해 하반기부터 가상자산 가격 등락을 결정짓는 핵심이었다. 실제로 해당 호재에 따라 지난해 비트코인 가격은 연초 대비 157% 상승했다. 그간 SEC는 시세 조작 등의 리스크를 근거로 가상자산 현물 투자 상품 출시를 불허했다. 하지만 지난해 그레이스케일과의 소송전에서 패소하며 SEC가 입장을 바꿀 것이라는 전망이 급격히 떠올랐다. 비트코인 현물 ETF 승인을 앞두고 업계에서는 갑론을박이 이어지고 있다.
