비트코인 시세가 역대 최고가를 넘어 상승세를 이어가기 유리한 환경이 만들어졌다는 분석이 나온다. 가상화폐를 장기간 보유하고 있는 투자자들이 가격 상승에 반응해 자산을 매도하며 차익 실현에 나서는 비중이 크게 줄어든 것으로 파악되기 때문이다. 2024년 5월 30일 가상화폐 전문지 코인텔레그래프에 따르면 비트코인 시장에서 장기 투자자들의 매도에 따른 하방 압력이 이전보다 낮아진 것으로 분석된다.
코인텔레그래프는 시장 조사기관 글래스노드 분석을 인용해 장기 투자자들이 현재 평균적으로 3.5배 수준에 이르는 비트코인 시세 차익을 보고 있는 것으로 추정된다고 전했다. 비트코인 가격이 7만 달러에 가깝게 반등하고 있지만 아직 이들의 차익 실현 흐름은 뚜렷하게 나타나지 않고 있는 것으로 파악된다. 155일 이상 자산을 보유하고 있는 장기 투자자들의 비트코인 매도는 가격 상승세를 저해하는 중요한 요인으로 꼽히는데 이러한 추세를 확인하기 어렵다는 의미다. 비트코인 시세가 7만3800달러로 사상 최고치를 기록했을 때에도 장기 투자자들이 차익을 실현한 비중은 과거 최고가를 보였을 때보다 절반 수준까지 줄어든 것으로 분석됐다. 현재 비트코인 가격이 상승세를 이어가 다시 최고가에 등극한다고 해도 장기 투자자들이 매도세에 힘을 실으며 다시 가격을 끌어내릴 가능성은 낮다는 뜻이다.

This is because the proportion of investors who have held virtual currency for a long period of time and are selling their assets in response to price rises to take profits is believed to have decreased significantly. According to Cointelegraph, a cryptocurrency magazine, on May 30, 2024, downward pressure due to selling by long-term investors in the Bitcoin market is analyzed to be lower than before.
Citing an analysis by market research firm Glassnode, Cointelegraph reported that long-term investors are currently estimated to be seeing a Bitcoin price profit of 3.5 times on average. Although the price of Bitcoin is rebounding close to $70,000, it is understood that the flow of profit taking is not yet clear. The selling of Bitcoin by long-term investors who have held assets for more than 155 days is considered an important factor hindering the price upward trend, which means that it is difficult to confirm this trend. Even when the Bitcoin price reached an all-time high of $73,800, the proportion of profits realized by long-term investors was analyzed to have decreased by half compared to the previous highest price. This means that even if the current Bitcoin price continues its upward trend and reaches the highest price again, it is unlikely that long-term investors will push the price down again by supporting the selling trend.
