<이더리움 현물 ETF 상장 승인>
가상화폐 비트코인 현물 상장지수펀드(ETF)에 이더리움이 미 규제당국으로부터 현물 ETF 상장 승인을 받았다. 비트코인을 제외한 알트코인으로는 처음이다. 이더리움은 가상화폐 시가총액 2위다. 2024년 5월 23일 미 증권거래위원회(SEC)는 반에크 등 자산운용사가 신청한 이더리움 현물 ETF에 대한 상장을 승인했다. 지난 1월 비트코인 현물 ETF에 대한 승인을 내린 지 4개월여만이다.
<Approval for listing of Ethereum spot ETF>
Ethereum received approval from U.S. regulators to list the cryptocurrency Bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund (ETF). This is the first time for an altcoin other than Bitcoin. Ethereum ranks second in cryptocurrency market capitalization. On May 23, 2024, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the listing of the Ethereum spot ETF applied by asset management companies such as VanEck. It has been about four months since the Bitcoin spot ETF was approved in January.
